DETAILS

Description (English)
Other Notes
Specifically inhibits agglutination of mouse spleen lymphocytes by soybean agglutinin1
Application
D-(+)-Galactose (D-Gal) is a component with glucose of the disaccharide lactose. Galactose may be used in studies on galactose metabolism as the substrate for indentificaiton, differentiation and characterization of enzymes such as galactose oxidase(s) (GO), galactose permease(s), galactose kinase(s), and galactose phosphorylase(s). D-Gal is used in the study of Maillard glycation and its consequences in vivo.
