Biochem/physiol Actions
Inhibitor of L-aromatic amino acid decarboxylase; crosses blood brain barrier. Also inhibits GABA aminotransferase, as well as other pyridoxal-phosphate-requiring enzymes, by forming the 3-hydroxybenzylhydrazone of that cofactor.1
