Myoseverin, a 2,6,9 trisubstituted purine, is a microtuble-binding molecule and reversible inhibitor of tubulin polymerization. It arrests cell cycle in the G2/M phase and causes mature, terminally differentiated mouse myotubes to disassemble into mononucleated fragments capable of responding to growth and differentiation conditions.
