Application
3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate is used in organometallic reagents, organosilicon and trialkoxysilanes. 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate has been used to develop an effective method for synthesizing magnetite/polymer colloidal composite microspheres with controllable variations in size and shape of the nanostructures and desirable interfacial chemical functionalities. 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate has also been used to carry out the synthesis of hybrid materials possessing zinc oxide nanoparticles encapsulated in core-shell polymer particles having poly(methyl methacrylate) core and chitosan shell (PMMA-CS/ZnO) via an emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization.
