Application
Poly(vinylpyrrolidone)-Iodine complex, or PVP-I, has been used to study microbial decontamination of human donor eyes1 and the inactivation of infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus2. It is used as a slow iodine release formulation that iodinates lipids and oxidizes cell compounds such as tyrosine sidechains and is used as a carbon nanotube coating agent to improve water solubility.
